Touchstone Energy® is a nationwide alliance of member-owned electric cooperatives with the common goal of building member loyalty and improving services to our members. This alliance provides enhanced tools and resources to help us accomplish this goal.

According to Webster's dictionary, a touchstone is a test or criterion of the qualities or genuineness of something. In the days of the gold rush, it was hard to distinguish between gold and fool’s gold. Miners panning for gold would carry a special stone with them that they would rub their find across. Depending on the mark the nugget left, they knew whether they had found gold or fool’s gold. That special stone was called their touchstone. Touchstone Energy® cooperatives subscribe to four measures of quality of service: integrity, accountability, innovation and community involvement. Egyptian Electric subscribes to these four measures and is a Touchstone Energy® cooperative.

It’s one thing to talk about these values and another to genuinely live up to them. At Egyptian Electric, we discuss these values regularly with our employees. We ask them to provide service to you based on these values. We make management decisions based on the same values. In other words, we desire to truly live up to your expectations.

Egyptian Electric is proud to be a part of Touchstone Energy®. We're still the same cooperative we've always been; still have the same management, board of directors, staff and employees. But now, thanks to Touchstone Energy®, we have a national presence and standards that you can expect us to live up to.
