Safe Electricity

Egyptian Electric is committed to the safe use of electricity, by our members, the general public, and our employees.

We offer electrical safety programs for the fourth grades of elementary schools in our service territory each spring. We have also sponsored high voltage, live-line demos at our annual meetings and other occasions.

As a member of the Energy Education Council, we are also a sponsor of the SafeElectricity web site. This web site is full of useful information for homeowners, contractors and teachers. Feel free to visit it often.

We are also committed to the safety of our employees. Our state association, the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative (AIEC) provides on-going safety training for our employees with regular safety meetings and training schools. In addition, the AIEC sponsors the Lineman's Safety Rodeo each fall in Springfield, where electric crews exhibit their expertise and safe working habits.
