Requesting a New Service
With proper planning, rest assured your new service will be available when you need it. This planning should begin with contacting the Cooperative at least six weeks before you believe you will need service. This will allow adequate time for engineering staff to meet with you on site and determine the best method and route of providing electric service that meets your needs.
There are many things that may need to be accomplished before your new service is ready to be built, including, but not limited to:
- Route selection
- Easements for your property and any others that may need to be crossed
- Construction fees
- Construction of service entrance and equipment
- Right of way clearing
If your particular needs are more demanding than a normal residential service, more time may need to be allotted. A good rule of thumb, it is never too early to begin discussions.
